Noida Police Step Up Fog Safety Drive, Urge Motorists to Slow Down on Highways

Noida Police have launched a proactive road safety campaign amid dense fog, urging motorists on NH-91 to drive slowly, use fog lights, and maintain safe distance. The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police initiative aims to reduce winter fog-related accidents through real-time public awareness.

67 (3)As dense fog continues to reduce visibility across parts of western Uttar Pradesh, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has launched a proactive road safety campaign aimed at protecting motorists during hazardous driving conditions. With winter fog posing a serious risk to commuters, Noida Police have intensified on-ground efforts to prevent accidents and ensure smoother traffic movement.

In a focused initiative, police personnel from the Dadri police station were seen making public announcements along National Highway-91, directly addressing drivers and advising them on safe driving practices amid low visibility. Officers urged motorists to reduce speed, maintain adequate distance from other vehicles, and use fog lights to improve visibility during travel. The announcements were made at key stretches of the highway where fog-related risks are particularly high.

According to officials, the campaign is part of a broader preventive strategy adopted by the commissionerate during the winter season, when fog often leads to pile-ups, skidding incidents, and delayed emergency response. By engaging directly with drivers through loudspeaker announcements, the police aim to create immediate awareness and encourage responsible driving behavior in real time.

Authorities believe that such timely interventions can play a crucial role in minimizing road accidents during extreme weather conditions. The initiative reflects an emphasis on preventive policing, where public safety is prioritized through awareness rather than enforcement alone. As foggy conditions are expected to persist, the police have reiterated their appeal to commuters to remain cautious, patient, and alert while on the road.
